Antiaging Antioxidants That Promote Good Health and Strengthen Your Immune System

Why Antioxidants?  Because Antioxidant vitamins give us our best defense against threatening oxidative species called free radicals.  Without antioxidants our bodies can be contaminated by environmental factors such as pollution, radiation, cigarette smoke and herbicides.

Also without antioxidants our bodies can lead to cell and tissue damage which can lead to diseases like cancer, hypertension, diabetes, chronic inflammation and neuronal degeneration like Alzheimer’s disease.

So how do we rid the free radicals that contaminate our bodies?  By consuming lots of antioxidant enriched foods.  Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables is your best start.  They are low in fat, high in fiber and very rich in antioxidants.  I’ve categorized them into color groups for easy recognition.

Include these antioxidant rich foods in your daily diet:

1. RED-  Beetroot, Tomato, Pink Grapefruit, Watermelon, Strawberry, Red Grape, Cranberry, Pomegranate, Red Pepper, Red Bean, Black Bean
2. Blue-  Acai Berry, Blackberry, Blueberry, Cherry, Prune, Raspberry, Plum
3. Green- Grape, Spinach, Broccoli, Kale, Pea, Green Tea, Avocado, Brussels Sprouts, Raisin, Alfalfa Sprouts, Collards
4. Orange- Papaya, Orange, Pumpkin, Carrot, Mangoe, Papaya
5. White- Onion, Cabbage, Turnip, Garlic
6. Brown/Gray- Walnut, Sunflower Seed, Spices, Nuts, Dark Chocolate

Anitaging antioxidants reduce oxidative damage to the cells in the skin as well as your body too.  We can promote healthier, younger looking skin by consuming more antioxidants into our bodies.  Antioxidants can also prevent cataracts or other eye problems that we associate with the elderly.

Antioxidants will strengthen a weakened immune system to keep it healthy and balanced, and protect the nervous system.  Always consult a medical professional to find out the best antiaging oxidants for you and the correct levels for your personal health.
